The Barrington Area Development Council (BADC) hosted its annual Citizen of the Year celebration on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Barrington’s White House, naming longtime educator and community supporter Don Thompson as the 51st recipient of the prestigious award.

The evening also featured a fireside chat with outgoing Barrington Village President Karen Darch, highlighting her two decades + of service and vision for the community’s future.

Barrington Youth & Family Services Raises Record-Breaking $534,475 for Mental Health

Barrington Youth and Family Services, a nonprofit supporting mental health in the Barrington area for over 50 years, hosted its annual fundraiser on April 12, 2025, at Biltmore Country Club. Approximately 240 community members raised $534,475 to ensure counseling remains accessible to all, regardless of ability to pay.
