A Barrington Hills estate, located at 45 Lakeview Lane, has finally sold for $6.5 million after spending more than a decade on the market.

Made famous by its role in the TV series Empire (airing from 2015-2020), the 17,597-square-foot French Provincial-style mansion first hit the market in 2013 for $15.9 million. Over the years, the price was gradually reduced—first to $12.5 million in 2016, then to $7.5 million in 2020. Previous sale contracts in 2021 and 2022 ultimately fell through.

The six-bedroom, three-story home was originally built in 2008 by Salvatore “Sam” Cecola and in the TV show, was the home of record mogul Lucious Lyon, played by Terrence Howard.

The sale of 45 Lakeview Lane is the second most expensive in Barrington Hills history, just below the $7.5 million paid in 2012 for 7 Fox Hunt Road, a 30,500-square foot English-style mansion on a 70-acre estate.

The buyer’s identity has not been disclosed. The listing agent is Michael LaFido of the LUXE Group.
