Barrington Park District Launches Communitywide Treasure Hunt to Reveal New Pool Name

The Barrington Park District announced the launch of The Great Tentacle Chase, a community treasure hunt that will reveal the name of the new pool opening this summer.

Starting today, Monday, April 7 through April 18, (Monday – Friday), the park district will be hiding one of these pictured octopus friends around town. Each octopus contains one letter (in order) of the new pool name.

Here’s how it works:
📍 A new octopus is hidden daily at noon.
🕵️‍♀️ Clues drop every hour on the pinned Tentacle Chase post for the day on the park district Facebook page until someone finds the octopus.
📸 Find it? Flip it over, snap a pic of the letter on its belly, and head over to the park district Facebook page.
💬 Post the picture in the comments of that day’s pinned post on Facebook.
